‘Kirkcudbright Artists Remembered’ was a Community Project led by the Kirkcudbright Harbour Cottage Trust in 2018. Local people recorded their recollections of artists in the town between the 1940s and 60s. The project generated more than 30 audio recordings, providing a fascinating and unique insight into life in Kirkcudbright at the time These recordings have become part of the University of Edinburgh Regional Ethnology of Scotland project and may also be accessed in The Ewart Library, in Dumfries.
Two short films inspired by the recordings were produced:
