The Harbour Cottage Gallery is available for hire throughout the year except at times when it is booked for the gallery’s annual exhibitions.
The gallery has a charming, intimate atmosphere, enjoys a considerable amount of natural light and has also been upgraded to a modern LED lighting system.
The windows on the east end of the gallery offer delightful views over Kirkcudbright’s thriving harbour and those on the south wall look across to Maclellan’s Castle and the mature chesnut trees on Moat Brae which is covered with daffodils in Spring.
The hanging space is on two floors, each carpeted and heated as necessary.
A system of hanging rods and hooks is installed throughout.
There is a telephone for emergency use only and the gallery now provides free WiFi access (code will be provided on request). The provided card terminal (chip & pin plus contactless) is connected by WiFi. Exhibitors have free use of WiFi..
The gallery is normally let for periods of 14 days for the whole gallery.
Preference will be given to 14 day bookings but consideration will be given to 7 day bookings and bookings for either the upper floor or ground floor spaces separately.
Hirers will have access to the gallery from 9.00am on the first day, normally Sunday, which is usually used for setting up the exhibition. The gallery must be vacated by 6.15pm, at the latest, on the last day of the exhibition to allow time for cleaning and any necessary maintenance before the next exhibition.
Exhibitions normally start on Mondays as indicated in the ‘Programme’ with final day on Saturdays.
