Dumfries and Galloway Fine Arts Society was founded by Kirkcudbright artists almost 100 years ago, in 1922. Following up a successful exhibition at Harbour Cottage Gallery last year, members were looking forward to exhibiting in their “home town” again, with their 2020 spring show due to run from April 27 to May 2. Of course, the coronavirus put paid to that, so it was decided to mount an online virtual exhibition instead.
A selection of the entries from professional and amateur members of the society is shown here, and there is a link to the whole of the virtual show on the society’s own website. We have to thank Harbour Cottage Gallery for ensuring that we are not altogether denied a presence, despite the difficulties caused by a certain virus. Enjoy the show – and share it if you can!
