The exhibition that should have been on now is “It Started with a Sketch”, in which various “A Sketch a Day” artists were to show their work.
One of the artists due to take part is Valerie Harrison. Valerie says of her work:
I live and work on the North Rhins, Dumfries & Galloway and I am inspired by the nature and beautiful scenery here. I paint using watercolours and watercolour pencils to create my designs before getting them printed by environmentally responsible printers using recycled or responsibly sourced paper and vegetable inks, where possible.
I have a passion for nature and wildlife and I am an all round Nature Nerd. I use my knowledge to bring realism and an attention to detail to my work.
I make a range of products including greetings cards, gift wrap, notebooks, magnets, posters, pocket mirrors and jewellery. Most are inspired by nature, although I also do a range of ukulele themed items, inspired by my son who is an accomplished player.
I have also illustrated a childrens book written by my husband Pete and a Dumfries & Galloway Wildlife Adult Colouring Book.
I sell online on my website and through Etsy and in local gift shops and galleries, I also do wholesale.
