Our Own Collection

The Harbour Cottage Trust Exhibits Its Own Collection

2nd to 14th October 2023

Hopefully it is not quite true that seeing this exhibition will be a once in a lifetime opportunity, but certainly the collection in its entirety will not have been shown for 25 years, and since then, several significant works have been added to it.

The Trust has almost accidentally acquired this very fine collection, through donations and bequests from artists and others who have appreciated what the Gallery provides: a very accessible, high-quality exhibition space in one of the town’s most iconic buildings.

It is an indication of the quality of the works, that of the 31 artists represented, 14 are also represented in the Kirkcudbright Collection at Kirkcudbright Galleries, a collection acknowledged as of national importance.

The poster produced for the Exhibition includes the artists represented.

This exhibition is one not to be missed.

The artists are: Vera Alabaster, Lena Alexander, Stuart Beaty, Moira Beaty, Thomas Blacklock, Teresa Dura Branson, Alastair Dallas, Ann Dallas, Dan Stuart Duncan, James Faed, Isabella Hamilton Findlay, Alexander Gibson, John Halliday, Lisa Hooper, Anna Hotchkis, Charles D’orville Pilkington Jackson, William Miles Johnston, Jessie M.
