The “Open” is one of the year’s main events at the Harbour Cottage Gallery. It is an opportunity for new and developing artists to exhibit their work, and every year several entrants in the Open are invited to become Gallery Artists, and take part in the Spring and Autumn exhibitions. It is intended to be welcoming. Works in a wide range of media are accepted and since work is not selected, artists new to exhibiting can enter without fear of being rejected.
I am always on the lookout for new artists to exhibit in the Open, and I am always adding names to my contact list. This year, I have invited everyone on my list to send images of their work that might have appeared on the walls of the Harbour Cottage Gallery had the event taken place. If you might like to take part in future, please get in touch.
Much of the work is for sale. If you want to find out more, or want to buy a piece, please send a message to me at open@harbourcottagegallery.org.uk, with your contact details, and the name of the artist and piece of work, and I will ask the artist to contact you direct.
I hope that the Open will return to the real stone walls of the Harbour Cottage Gallery in 2021.
